What Are Blogging Networks? + My Recommendations

Bloggers make working with brands look breezy, but it’s not always that easy!  When you are first starting out it’s difficult to know where to begin.  We have been discussing how to start getting sponsored posts over in the exclusive Blog With Kim Mastermind Group, so this post will help you take the next step!  I know that you are sitting back wondering how so many bloggers are getting amazing paid opportunities to work with brands and you are asking yourself, “How can I do that?”  Well, I have the answer to your question!  I am here to give you the break down on what blogging networks are, how they work, and I’m sharing a few favorites that I have personally worked with.

I’ve been working with brands for over 5 years now, and I have learned a whole lot so I am excited to share this information with you.

 Tapinfluence Collaboration With Vaseline

As an influencer who has collaborated with many brands, you need to have some form of a following before you try to work with blogger networks or all you are going to hear is crickets.

You don’t need thousands of followers or blog views per month, but you need to have some form influence or a specialized niche.  Use what you have to your advantage!  For example, if you do not have very many blog views but you have a couple thousand followers on Instagram you can with work brands for a social media collaboration and include a blog post as a part of the agreement.

Brands want to clearly see that you have influence because there is no need for them to work with you if they feel like they are not going to make money and or get more exposure.  The point of a collaboration is for both parties to benefit, so make sure that you are ready to work with brands.  One way to do that is to identify the unique aspects of your platform and learn how to communicate that.  My Pitch Email Templates can help you with reaching out to brands and gives you the formula to follow when responding via email.  So check them out if you need help with this.

Blogging networks connect brands with bloggers.  Some networks are exclusive and by invite only and some you can sign up for.  There are lots of blogging networks and all of them have different terms, guidelines, and pay.  It’s not always easy to get a sponsored post with a blogging network, but it’s worth getting started.  Some networks I get work from frequently and others I never hear from, but that is all apart of the blogging hustle.  The more networks you join the better your chance of landing some amazing brand campaigns and sponsored posts.  So go for it!

Keep in mind that some networks may require that you have a blog that is at least 3-6 months old, consistent content, and great picture quality.  Your social media numbers also come into play as I mentioned above.  You have to put the work in before you seek monetary gain from your influence.

A lot of influencers recommend blogging networks that they have had no direct experience with.  For now, I am only going to discuss the networks that I have worked with and if you want more information on others, please leave a comment below.

This network has been the easiest way for me to connect with brands because they pitch to you.  If a brand is interested they will notify you with the offer on their website, and you can choose to except it or send a counteroffer.  They pay very well (based on your social reach) and I love that this platform makes it easy to negotiate your rates.  I would highly recommend signing up.

From my CVS Collaboration with Fohr

This network pays well and has connections with some of the top brands.  The brands are a little more selective on this platform, but that is nothing to be intimidated by.  The great thing about Fohr is that you can also pitch to brands.

Mozillagram Collaboration with Collectively

This is probably my least favorite network out of all listed, but I do like how they offer the opportunity to sign up for collaborations that may match your brand via email.  Every so often you will get an email with information about a possible collaboration with the opportunity to sign up.  From that point on you may or may not be selected to participate, but I do like the ease of this process.  It’s hard to tell what they base their criteria on to select influencers for sponsored posts because there is very little direct communication, but I would still give it a try.

Izea Collaboration With Izea

Izea has been around for awhile (with a few name changes), and I have been apart of this network for years.  I’ve had a few sponsored posts through this network, and I find the pay to be moderate to high (depending on the brand and type of sponsored post).  There are opportunities in the area of blogging and social media, so I think it’s worth checking out.

To wrap it up, don’t be discouraged if you are not excepted by these networks or if you find that you are not getting brand collaborations right away.  It takes time.  Keep working on your quality content and you will see good things start to happen for your blog.  If you have any questions leave them below or on Instagram.
